Rancho Da Picanha Churrascaria

Rancho Da Picanha is not quite centrally located in the city center, but we don't want to be too precise with this very fine address for a great Brazilian barbecue.

A churrascaria is a traditional restaurant from southern Brazil, where the main dish is grilled meat (= churrasco). The grilled meat (steak, sausage, ribs, etc.) is served from the spit directly at the table.

The service staff will cut the desired amount from the spit directly at your table. Salad and all side dishes are provided as an open buffet. You can find Rancho Da Picanha Churrascaria on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

Prices

You pay a flat rate of around 25 US dollars per person and can eat as much as you like. In addition: In Mexico, no one will ask you to clear the table or bring the bill without being asked. For what is offered, it is quite reasonable. And it's great fun for all.

The salad buffet, which you can serve yourself as you wish, is enormous. In addition to every imaginable salad, there are mussels, shrimp, sushi, beef and fish carpaccio, various hot side dishes, vegetables, a huge parmesan cheese, and so on.

Interior

The Rancho doesn't thrive on pretty interiors or a dignified atmosphere. Dark brown tables and chairs sit on a dark brown floor. A few pictures hang on the walls, primarily covering the wall.

The Rancho is not a quiet place. Large air conditioners, fans and thick loudspeakers together with the background noise of the guests result in an eclectic mess.

Birthday serenades from the waiters are done in team strength and with bells and rattles. You can also sit in the garden, but you may not want to.

But the Rancho lives from the waiters, who eagerly and with joy carry very tasty and very large pieces of meat (beef, pork, lamb, turkey, sausages, etc.) on long skewers through the area and hold them under your nose until you give up.

SIM or NAO?

You get a kind of chip, which you put in front of you on the table. One side (SIM) stands for "I want more", the other side (Nao) indicates that you have had enough.

So much for the theory. In practice, the meat orgy only ends when there is no more plate in front of you (so your chip can lie however it wants).

And while in other countries you may be used to being asked if you want the bill after your meal, this doesn't happen in Mexico. As long as you don't ask for it yourself, you can stay seated for as long as you like.
