The name comes from the art district of the same name in New York. This is not a coincidence, but the art gallery was founded by New Yorker Adele Aguirre (after 20 years of running a software company in the United States), who emigrated to Mérida.
The gallery focuses on the work of artists from Mexico and Cuba, but also exhibits work by artists from France, Canada, India and the USA.
The artists can be met during the "Artists Without Borders" exhibitions and events. Most of the art objects are paintings, but sculptures are also exhibited.
